The MDCLL on-line catalog provides several search templates (forms) for the Library database.
Use the search forms to:
Back to IntroAt each search form you must supply the term or terms you want to search. You can also limit your search by branch if your information center has more than one location. When you are searching for resources on a particular topic use the Key Word Searching Form, Advanced Search , or Browse. NOTE: All searches are case insensitive.
Use Key Word Searching to find terms contained anywhere in Titles, Subjects (topics), Abstracts, Corporate Name or Conferences fields. Also at this form, you can click on Author to search for an author (last name first). Search results can be sorted by:
Date entered (descending order)
Publication Date (descending order)
Call Number
Title
Main Author
Material Type
You can further limit your search by specifying starting and/or ending date.
If the Library has multiple branches the search covers all unless you limit
it to one location.
Use Browsing when you want to scan an index and see the number of records containing a word or term. It includes the following indexes:
Subject Heading begins
Subject Heading contains
Title begins

Corporate Name begins
Corporate Name contains
Series begins

All BEGINS searches will automatically do truncation (no * required at the end of a term). All CONTAINS searches require an * at the end of the term to do truncation. This module does not support boolean searches.
